He never would have wanted this, his daughter vowed. After her father's death, so much about the funeral was a guess. He wanted to be cremated,
but what about the service, the music, the urn. He had been a hardworking man, so his ashes had been poured into his steel thermos and placed temporarily on the bookshelf.
After the burglary, it wasn't the first thing missed since the teens had made a mess in the bathrooms, looking for pharmaceuticals, and had stolen all the liquor bottles.
They confessed to emptying the thermos from their car window when it wasn't cocaine.

On the other hand, dead people often have a wonderful sense of humor, and hard working men usually don’t like just hanging around, so maybe he didn’t mind the joyriding and even was thrilled to venture out into the cosmos – just a thought…

You may very well be right about that! He seemed to be in limbo on that bookshelf... Thank you both for commenting.

I agree with the daughter. Being carelessly and unceremoniously thrown to the wind as part of a criminal escapade is definitely not what a structured, hardworking man would have wanted. (In my humble opinion.)
