The lamp blinked, blinked again and went out, and the room choked on the darkness.
“The door is gone,” one of ours said indifferently.
My toes turned cold. Something began to trickle out from under the plank floor and from the walls. Nearby someone screamed.
Water crawled up my legs. I realized that soon the wires with which we are tied up would get wet - then surely the end.
“What the heck? Can we do something ?!“ I shouted.
“No,” answered the one sitting next to me. “The thing works only once. We're in the times of the Great Flood.“
