Berserko the Clown had a gig at an orphanage on the outskirts of town. He actually felt sorry for the kids as he arrived. The place had seen better days and was in serious need of repair. The kids looked sullen and malnourished. But he did his best to entertain them.
But the condition of the orphanage preyed upon his mind until he finally went downtown to talk to someone in the mayor's office.
"I don't understand, Mr. Berserko," the assistant said. "That orphanage was demolished 30 years ago and was never rebuilt."
Not much frightens Berserko.
But that did.

You could probably see this coming, but I thought it was appropriate for the season.

It nonetheless shows Berserko’s softer, caring side (even if he ended up crapping himself!)

Haha! Thanks, Neville. It's been pretty slow around here lately so I thought I'd better kick myself in the shorts and write something.

I must do something here too pretty soon, but this week it’s the schools’ half term holiday and we’ve been busy with the grandchildren; Kew Gardens with one set yesterday and The Tower of London with two more today. I’m exhausted!🙂

The great thing about grandchildren is that eventually they go home, unlike when you were raising their parents!

Loved it!

Just a suggestion Christopher, if you could add a drabble on Packers and Movers to your Sponsor Series ( a recent discussion gave me this thought).
My bad, if you've already written on them (but I don't recollect the drabble)

That's an interesting idea. I'll give it some thought. I'm in the process of repainting my kitchen and haven't had much time for drabbling. Thankfully, I'll be finished by the end of this week.
