They all three assumed the position for frisking, facing the wall with the palms of their hands flat against the wall.
Roxie started to come in and I waved her off. I was going to scare the hell out of these kids.
"Okay, You little maggots! I don't know who you think you're fooling with here but I've killed a lot of thugs like you in my day!"
One of the kids said through their sobs, "We ain't thugs, mister!"
"Shaddup!" I screamed.
They were all three crying like babies.
"Stop crying, you little mama's boys!"
They kept sobbing away...

We had a thing here in the States in the 70's called "Scared Straight" where they'd take troubled kids who were on the wrong path and take them to a prison and put them in a room with some hardened convicts and they would scare the shit out of them. They showed us the documentary when I was in school. And it scared a lot of kids back onto the straight and narrow. Jake was apparently the originator of that technique.
