Miss La Pizza got a standing ovation at the close of her number. She winked and blew a kiss to the audience and exited the stage.

The emcee returned to the stage clapping and yelling, "Wasn't she fantastic, folks?"

Everyone cheered as the emcee said, "Well, she'll be back a little later, but coming up we have everyone's favorite comedy duo, Grinn & Barrett!"

There was a small wave of cheers and claps as one of the patrons yelled, "Those bums?"

The band began playing a soft number as I turned back to the bartender to refill my bourbon glass...

Grinn & Barrett was one of my sponsor drabbles about an old comedy team in their 90's getting back together for one more comedy tour before they died. The time setting of this story would've been about right for them to be in their heyday, so I used them. It's the first time Jake and my sponsor drabbles have crossed over.

Love the names Grinn & Barrett. Never mind plagiarising yourself, it’s your own invention! Hope we’ll get a joke from them before Miss la Pizza is back on! (Wonder if they have that famous stripping comedienne on later, Chest-a Laugh?)
