I nodded, "That's right, ma'am. We just wanted to get a little bit of background about Lillian; what her likes and dislikes are, how she grew up, that sort of thing."

She smiled, "Well, we'll tell you anything you want to know. Won't we, dear?" she asked as she turned to her husband.

He shook his head and said, "I'm going skiing. I'm sure you're more than capable of handling this. Dear."

The way he added "dear" was unsettling...
