I auditioned to join a band as a lead guitarist in between having my own bands. My close friend, who was bassist in my bands, went with me.
I played with them one afternoon. Didn't like it. The guitarist seemed batshit crazy to me. But my friend joined the band.
Months later the band had a falling out with the strange guitarist. He left their rehearsal hall but came back later with a chainsaw and cut a Marshall stack amplifier that he co-owned in half, threw his part in his truck, and left.
I think my instincts were accurate.

Two more true points about this guy.
A few years later he was working for an air conditioner repair company and came out to work on my air conditioning system and didn't remember me.
Then a few years after that his wife left him and he put a shotgun under his chin and blew his face off.
The sad part? He survived the ordeal.

Multiple ineptness then. As a true story, that’s really scary!😰

Yeah, I'm just glad I wasn't there when he came back wielding that chainsaw. My bass playing friend was there, though, and he said it was pretty scary. I knew about that years later when he showed up to fix my air conditioner. I'm glad he didn't remember me. And I didn't jog his memory.

The sawing in half of the amplifier made me giggle. Then came the context. Talk about comedy being life viewed from a distance.!

Glad you weren't in the room when the chainsaw business was going on of course. Was this the same chap that got arrested for burglary?
Christopher almost 3 years ago
No, the burglary guy was one I'd gone to school with. I only met this whack job twice, once at the audition and then when he came to fix my air conditioner years later.

I didn't think to ask. I guess you guys have heard of the movie "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre?" It never occurred to me that they might not have released that movie over there.

Well known in the U.K yep. Never seen it. :-)

Oh, okay. I saw it when I was 17 and it scared the hell out of me. And not many horror movies did. Things like Massacre that were based on true events tended to scare me more. Like "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" or "Helter Skelter," about the Manson Family.

I know the name of the movie but, like Jamie, I’ve never seen it. I don’t go for horror movies at all. I’m just a ‘big girl’s blouse’ at heart. Comedies, rom-coms and sweet happy endings are my kind of thing!

I just heard that phrase "girl's blouse." Have you ever seen a show with Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson called Bottom? I've been binge watching that for the past two days.
