Old Jokes #16

by

Grandpa was so excited to finally have his little granddaughter Elizabeth coming to Texas to stay at his ranch for the whole summer.

When she arrived he spent the first day walking hand-in-hand with Elizabeth, showing her around the ranch.

When they got to the cow pasture Elizabeth began to giggle uncontrollably.

Grandpa asked, "What's so funny?"

Elizabeth pointed to a fly perched on the top of a mound of cow dung and said as she continued to giggle, "I know that they say everything is done bigger in Texas but did that fly really do all that?!"

I had to reconstruct this old joke because I couldn't remember exactly how it went.

    Thanks, Neville.

This place is getting to be a ghost town, isn't it?

    Reminds me of The Specials.

It is rather ghostly right now. A bit worried about Drew’s disappearance. Hope he’s not been affected by Covid. Would be great to have him back here.

Everythang seems bigger in Tayex-as! There is a song written and originally sung by the late Blaze Foley, and made popular after by the also, but recently late John Prine (who, along with Taylor Swift, I’ve been binge listening to recently) called Clay Pigeons. It speaks of going to Texas ‘where the people say y’all’ and reminds me of the TV series Dallas, JR and S’wellin’ as well as Bobby’s miraculous reincarnation, on account of Patrick Duffy changin’ his mind about leavin’ the cast. All such fun!😊

Yeah, I remember that. My parents watched Dallas. I mostly just stayed in the living room after The Incredible Hulk and The Dukes Of Hazzard went off. Dallas came on after them for about three or four years.
