FBI agents Wilson and Parker were tracking a low-level Pentagon computer programmer they believed had stolen top secret government documents and was preparing to sell to the highest bidder. They monitored his phone calls and found where the meeting had been set, a hotel room downtown.
As the agents broke into the room the programmer crumpled up the paper and quickly ate it before they had a chance to stop him.
"Cuff him," Wilson said.
"He just ate the evidence!" Parker replied.
"That's okay," Wilson said, "in a day or two we'll charge his ass with passing government secrets!"

Thanks, Neville and Jamie. Another bit of random silliness that came to me after hearing the phrase "passing government secrets."
