I have a tendency to get songs stuck in my head, playing over and over on a loop. Sometimes it's something I've heard recently, other times it's one I haven't heard in 20 or 30 years.

I have to force my brain to play a song to counteract the stuck song. My go-to song is "Hot Blooded" by Foreigner. I don't know why I picked that one, it isn't even my favorite song by that band. But it works.

The trouble is, after all these years, I have a new song stuck in my head...

"Hot Blooded" by Foreigner.

I know what you mean, Christopher. I’ve mentioned before how Mrs H continually (and I do man continuously... for decades) hums the same Gentille Alloute. Occasionally, I successfully hijack this, but a day later... back to her default hum. I know Foreigner, but not ‘Hot Blooded’. Will listen to it and try to see if she can hum it!

Thanks, Neville. Hot Blooded was a big hit for them here, on an album called Double Vision. The title track of that album is actually my favorite Foreigner song so I don't know why I picked Hot Blooded to use as a pied piper to drive out the ratty songs in my head.

It's getting worse as I get older, though. I'll wake up with some song from the 70s stuck in my head that I haven't heard since I was a little kid.

A British station called Magic FM always seems to play the same twenty songs on a loop and due to it always being on in a post room I worked in recently, they almost got stuck in my head on a loop too. 😔 😁 🐝

Yeah, the older I get the more that seems to be happening.

Haha I'm sure many people have the same affliction :) It's great when it starts but then after a while... hell.
My worst thing is when I remember a snatch of a song but don't know how it continues because I can't remember which song or band it is.
