“And that’s a violation of your civil rights,” the lawyer said. “Everyone has the right to due process. Even you. You were denied that right. I propose you sue Almighty God, starting with wrongful dismissal.”
The Devil looked around again, “This has got to be a joke!”
“It’s no joke. Will you just trust me?” he said as he put his hand out.
The Devil grabbed his hand and shook it. Smoke billowed up from their clasped hands. Then the lawyer keeled over and fell off the wall, dead.
The Devil shrugged, “Damn it! I lose more lawyers that way!”

I don't know what this means. I found it on my computer. I had written it over a year ago and never posted it, so I figured since I was done with Jake for the moment I'd go ahead and blow the dust off of them and post them.

Haha! Thanks Jake.... Er Christopher. I hadn’t expected that, hell no!

Haha - maybe that's why he's the Devil and God is God - pretty sure the omnipotent one would have learned from his previous mistakes :) Great drabble sir!

Thanks, guys. I was out of town yesterday. Drove three-and-a-half hours to buy some vinyl records and then turned around and drove back home again.

Sounds like a great use of seven hours :) Did you get anything interesting?

A weird mixture of The Moody Blues, The Beach Boys, The Monkees, Country Joe And The Fish, Johnny Guitar Watson, Crack The Sky, City Boy and several others just as bizarre. My taste in music might be described as schizophrenic.

I'd say "eclectic" :) I need to check out Crack The Sky, I know nothing about them, but the others I'd enjoy listening to. Beach Boys I only like Pet Sounds and Smile though - immensely talented but not for me really. Sounds like a very rewarding time though :)

It was. My niece, who's 28, just got into vinyl so I took her down to this great old guy named "Odd Bob" who has a place down near the Gulf of Mexico. We both did pretty well. She got Alice Cooper, Foreigner, Steve Miller Band, things like that. I taught her well.
Crack The Sky is a rather obscure American band but they made quite a few albums to have never been even modestly successful commercially. I discovered them, along with City Boy, when I got XM Satellite Radio several years ago.

omg that sounds so amazing - "Odd Bob" near the Gulf Of Mexico - for somebody like me in Britain it sounds so sort of romantic, in the vinyl sense. And you did indeed teach your niece so well :) I feel quite jealous! All I need is a transporter and I could beam down there now :)

I wish I had a transporter and then I wouldn't have to drive three-and-a-half hours to get down there!
If you ever make a trip to the U.S. let me know. I'll take you down there to the Gulf. It's a beautiful place.

It's a deal :)
