"Randolph," Harrigan said, "do you know how much manpower has gone into checking on Deborah Newstead's disappearance from that ocean liner? And I haven't even mentioned the fact that you used a fake passport. You're asking us to overlook an awful lot."
I nodded, "I know. But won't it be worth it to not only clear up Phil Garfield's hit-and-run but also uncover possible corruption in the City Planner's office? Consider it an undercover operation by a subcontractor."
Harrigan smiled and I knew I had him.
"Just give me a little more time to check this out, huh?"
