I rose up from the table, "What did I say about questioning me, Mr. Alexander?"

He nodded. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he said in rapid succession. "Two minutes after you leave and don't come back. Understood."

I pocketed the envelope of cash and walked out the door. I waited in my car in the parking lot to see if he followed my instructions. Two minutes later, he walked out and got in the same car I saw him driving into his mansion with.
