The box from space crash landed in the desert in the southern hemisphere. It remained there unopened for centuries before it was discovered by a team of archeologists. It contained a seemingly empty broken vial, but unleashed a hell that decimated half the planet's population before a cure was found.
They never discovered why someone would seal a virus in a box and then send it hurtling through the vastness of space, but they did discover its origin. Apparently it was sent from a little blue planet in a galaxy called the Milky Way.
A little blue planet called Earth.

Not recovering as well from this second surgery as I did from the first. Hopefully I can catch up with everyone's writings soon, but I woke up with this in my head and grabbed my phone so I wouldn't forget it. It's another drabble whose title sounds like H. P. Lovecraft to me, who is one of my favorites.

Good stuff Christopher. Hope you recover fully soon and are back on your feet very soon too.

A most original, thought provoking drablr, surely an encouraging sign of your recovery? It will be good to have you back at full throttle. Best wishes.

Thanks, Steve. It's slow going, but I'm improving.

Gee sorry to read about problems with the second operation, wish and hope for a good recovery. Loved the virus story, one way Earth makes way for colonisation I suspected.

That's an interesting take on it, Peter. I didn't really envision it as a deliberate act, so that puts a new spin on it for me. Thanks for reading.
