Jenny knew he would come in. For the past 7 years she'd worked at the greeting card store he'd come in the week before Valentine's Day and buy a card. Her boss told her he'd done it for years before Jenny even came to work there. He'd buy the card, then go across the street to the post office and mail it to himself.
She thought how sad that was that he was so alone. Then she thought about herself.
On her lunch break she bought a Valentine and went across to the post office to mail it to herself.

The logical thing would be for these two people to get together. But matters of the heart are rarely logical.

The other thing is why, after 7 years, was this just now occurring to Jenny?

Sweet and sad one that.

Jamie has said exactly my thoughts. A lovely idea Christopher, and reading your own reflections above, I wonder if it would be a good idea to cover the same story setup with different outcomes? Rewinds? Just a thought. 😕

A good way to describe an isolated life and then you see it as a lonely life as well
Many Thanks
