James would lie awake every night as a child hearing the haunting train whistle and clickety-clack echoing through the woods behind his house. Eventually he got used to it, and as life in his little town got more and more unbearable he would often fantasize about hopping on that train. But he never did.
When he came home from college one year he decided to find the train. He asked his dad.
"Son, there was a terrible accident with that train. They even tore up the tracks."
"When was that?" James asked.
"About a year before you were born."

Everyone probably saw that coming, but in my bedroom I used to hear a train way off in the distance and I never found out where that train was. Or if it even existed.
