There's a computer and printer in the den that goes unused most of the time. Between smart phones, laptops and tablets I just don't go in there very often. That's why it surprised me when I heard the printer kick on. I went to investigate and found a page had been printed that repeatedly said CANCEL YOUR FLIGHT over and over again. I was going on a business trip overseas the following weekend. But I heeded the warning and missed the fiery plane crash.
The weirdest part? That printer hasn't had an ink cartridge in it for over a year.

This was inspired by an actual event. I was in my den watching a movie and the printer kicked on for no reason. It didn't print anything but it made all the sounds and preparations like it was about to print something, then it went back to sleep mode. So it got me thinking.

Would make a good start for a Christmas tech ghost story series. :)

Great Drabble, Christopher. Spooky...! I wrote a drabble way back about a vaguely similar situation when I lived in my last house, a 400 year old building. On two occasions, I woke up in the middle of the night to hear noises in the attic. It was the TV in my study up there which had switched itself on, not having been used for months. These days, in my newer house, the digital recorder attached to my main TV switches itself on and off at random. I can't work out why, but maybe there's a parallel world using my stuff. Hmmmph! They should be paying rent!
Maybe an idea somewhere there for a drabble or series....

Thanks for the inspiration Christopher ;)

I remember you talking about that, Neville. I'm not supernaturally minded, but even I admit there's some things that happen that you just can't explain.
Always glad to spark inspiration, Jeff.
