I grabbed the Magnum from her hand and tossed it to Jeffrey. Then I pushed her back into the room. Jeffrey had the gun on her, so I slid my borrowed police revolver back in the shoulder holster under my arm.

I snatched the suitcase from her hands, despite her best efforts to thwart that action. I went over to the fireplace and laid the suitcase down flat on the stone hearth.
