I used to be a private detective of some renown in the greater Los Angeles area, but about nine years ago I came into a large sum of money....long story....and I made quite a few investments. Despite a couple of bad ventures, I made my money grow to the point where it was working for me instead of the other way around. I'd grown tired of dodging fists and ducking bullets, so I closed my detective office and bought the Existential Café just to have a so-called job to go to. Wow, poor old Jake sounds a bit life-weary. Maybe money don't make you happy after all. He needs some excitement...and a good woman, but he'll probably get a bad one! :-)

He's due for some excitement, Neville. I just wanted it to be a different scenario this time, rather than it being a lesser repeat of the first one. He has to set up the story in the first few drabbles, but it'll kick into high gear soon enough. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for reading, L. Michelle and Robbin. Bear with me for a few drabbles so he can set the scene and then the story will get cracking.

Thanks, Robin.
L. Michelle, like last time I have an outline for the main storyline, but I'm playing the details by ear.

Sorry, Robbin, I missed a "b" in your name on my last comment.
