I lie in bed, listening to the rain as it relentlessly pounds the roof; a steady, hypnotic rhythm making the night pulsate with despair and regret. I wonder if she's lying in bed listening to it too. I wonder if I should call her. Should I call her? I'm gonna call her.... No, it will only make things worse. The sheet is a hot, sticky prison, but if I kick it off me I'll only get cold. I keep one eye on the ceiling and one on the clock. After midnight. I wonder if she's asleep. Should I call or....?

Yeah, call her and say sorry, even if it was not your fault (it's only a word anyway and she won't see you at the end of the line crossing your fingers!) A very atmospheric drabble, Christopher.

It's the old song "should I stay or should I go, if I stay there will be trouble, if I go
it will be double..." Damned if you do, damned if you don't. You've caught it.

A question of love posed inside a drabble.

    Thanks for the question.
