The work was done. Everything had been photographed and catalogued, samples taken and analyzed. Janus was ready for colonization.
Earth was too polluted, too crowded, too sick to sustain humans. A new planet had been discovered, identical to Earth. Named Janus, after the Roman god of beginnings and transitions.
Driscoll was packing his gear as he looked at the beautiful horizon. His captain downed a Coca-Cola and threw the can to the ground.
"Gonna be great," the captain said with zeal.
Driscoll looked at the can as a tear ran down his face.
"Yeah," Driscoll whispered. "Gonna be great."
