I was in the lobby of the Hotel Bismarck. I'd tracked my prey for months. He was calling himself Richard Barnett, but his actual name was T12X001. He was a Series 8 android made by the Ultra Corporation.

I was one of many bounty hunters hired to track down these recalled service droids. They were exact duplicates, so humanlike, and were extremely unpopular. Most reprogrammed themselves to believe they were humans.

He came in. I ordered him to halt. He pulled his laser pistol and fired, hitting my shoulder.

Then I saw the smoking wires hanging out of my arm.

Thank you, Anna. The idea of artificial life not knowing it's artificial has always appealed to me. In fiction, of course. Not in fact. Thanks again.

Nice one Christopher, I wasn't expecting that ending. Also, Neville Hunt, you should be ashamed of yourself lol :)

'Especially liked the line that they were programmed to think they were human.

Excellent twist at the end, I went in hook line and sinker.

    Many Thanks.
