“OK, if you really have to go, I’ll walk with you.”
“You can’t, I’m going to work.”
“Where’s your work then?”
“Edwards.”
“The shoe shop in Main Street?”
“Yes.”
“But you don’t work Thursdays.”
“How do you know that?”
“And I’m dying!”
“I’m really sorry, but…”
“But any excuse to get away again, eh? I’ll buy you a coffee.”
“But you’re scaring me.”
“How do you think I feel then?”
“Why are you here?”
“I wanted to say goodbye.”
“But we said our goodbyes over eleven years ago.”
“You said goodbye, but there was nothing good about it for me.”
