Prompt: Wedding

Fair Folk Drabbles #2

Sax & Violins wasn’t your traditional wedding band, but this wasn’t your traditional wedding. The room was lowly lit and the scent of beer floated through just as smoothly as Cassia’s Sax. One bride was decked out in what could mockingly be called a three-piece suit with the sleeves torn off in a brilliant white, her mohawk fading from black to brilliant blue. The other wore a low-cut and short dress of deepest black, her cropped hair platinum blonde. Their smiles stretched from ear to ear as they greeted friends and family near the rainbow flag inspired cake.

Prompt: Blink

Fair Folk Drabbles #1

Darkness around her, noises indistinctive from one another. Roars in her ears; were they even real? Cassia had no way to know. Scents filled her nose but she couldn’t tell if they were Faerie or mundane. She tried to close her eyes, only to find them already closed. When had that happened? She forced them open, and everything dimmed and sharpened at the same time. Sounds became clear, music and yelling, another band on stage. The smell of Jack and Mary Jane permanently imbedded into furniture backstage, her girls around her. Everything was fine in the span of a blink.
