...The four of us depleted
But the remaining three
Have undepleted memories
Of our camaraderie.

He will not be forgotten
That simply cannot be
A man of such uniqueness
His own man constantly.

He always will be with us
If only in our minds
And living on his legacy
The loved ones left behind

His pride will live beyond him
In his much loved family
And I’m sure it will extend as far
As Richard, Philip and me.

So Graham fare you well then
This will not be the end
You’ll never be forgotten
My brother and my friend.

Au Revoir Graham #1

My elder brother died recently. His funeral started at 12.00 Noon today, the First Day of Spring. Sadly, two of his three brothers, me included, haven’t been able to be there due to advice regarding ‘underlying medical conditions’ in these unprecedented times. You didn’t know him, but here’s my tribute.

At Noon the day that Spring begins
We all should say goodbye
But I for one say au revoir
I’ll see him by and bye.

Believe that he is passing on
He’s gone to pave the way
To who knows where, who knows when
We’ll meet again one day.
