Fairytales #5

by

Before then though I had a long dark night to endure. My thoughts haunted by her trusting eyes. The abuse she'd been subjected to crept into my subconscious.

The horrors I could put a stop to.

Going round. Phoning the police. I did them immediately in my sleep, and they came. Saved her.

A flashing blue light pierced my nightmare. Sirens peppered my slumber and my eyes opened and it wasn't a dream. Ambulances were in the road, outside our houses and I watched from my window as her body was pulled out on a stretcher. Covered with a bloodied sheet.

Oh Lisa, you have hit hard with this story! You've told it brilliantly and I have to admit to being upset by it. A great piece of writing in so few words. Very impressive; very well done.

No worries, Lisa, I recover quickly... and if you're like me, you thrive on emotional ups and downs! :-)

Superbly constructed, well written and powerful. I felt so helpless reading this, which is a mark of how well it's written and the situation conveyed. Superb Lisa. Have to brace myself for future tales, I can see. But keep em coming!

Definitely high praise, and warranted. I'm with Nev, I felt really upset reading it, initially because I thought the kid was getting into a scary situation with someone who could be a paedophile and then when the truth is revealed it's, if anything, even worse.
No apologies for repeating myself and saying it is extremely well handled and packs a major punch.

Well thank you both for reading and your continued comments.
    Does spur me on X
