Before the Storm

I sit in my chair, listening to some music, a glass of baileys in hand. And for a while, I am content.
The music soothes me, calming my mind. The drink comforts me, warming my heart. The Christmas tree lights sparkle, like fairies, and i watch them dance.

I sip my drink , relaxing into my own little.world. I savour the moment, for as long as possible .For I know tomorrow will be too much, too loud, testing my limits. So for a while, I relish the quiet before the storm. For I think, this year, I have earned it.
