She's surprised them on me. Usually she gives me a warning. But here they are.

I hate them. They trample through the house, invading my safe spaces. They spread horrid putrid scents that make me feel sick, that twist my stomach into knots so tight I can't breathe. They bring with them loud noises; drills, hammers, voices, radios that overwhelm me. They interact with me, making small talk when I'm already nervous, when I struggle with words, when all I wanted was a cup of tea. They make me restless, fidgety, unable to concentrate.

Why do they have to come?

They come probably because ‘she’ thinks you’ll like a refreshed place to live in... but by the sound of it, Sarah, the treatment is worse than the condition!🥴. Perhaps it will be much better (than before) when at last they’re gone?

I think my mum just likes to frustrate me doing these big decorating jobs that create little difference afterwards as far as I can see. They're a big anxiety trigger for me I hate them. I thought we had a system of warning me beforehand so I could prepare but obviously not. She knows it makes me anxious and does it anyway, and if I complain she makes it all about her.

‘makes it all about her.’... now that rings a bell with my late mother-in-law! She tended to personalise everything and before you know it, the conversation was about her and her problems. That was rather trying!
