It's one of my favourite spots in the whole world.
The little church is kind and welcoming, reminding me of a childhood of choirs. Behind it, is my favourite spot. A small grassy lawn, that slopes down the hill to the river Hiz . A river that Henry VIII once tried to pole vault over, and fell in. I have spent many a good while sitting under one of the ancient hawthorns,, writing, relaxing, sipping coffee. Just watching the river, seeing the birds, calm and content. For here, all my worries melt away, all my anxieties forgotten for a while.

It's nice that you have a place where you can forget your troubles for awhile.

Sounds lovely! And the River Hiz flows past Hitchin’s lovely parish church too. I’ll have to take that river more seriously now!
