Tale of an Anxious Girl

Her eyes shoot open, and her pupils shrink as the light rushes into her. Shocked, she tried to remain calm as she feels her limbs shake and shivers strike her body. She’s paralyzed but attempts deep breathing. Her eyes flutter frantically as she forces herself to soothe back to sleep; there, she’s safe. But, unable to ease her pounding heart, she threw her arms up as if she was surrendering to the universe, and asking it to heal her aching chest. “Please,” she begged, “make it stop.” Eventually, she settled enough to rise from her sheets. “Another day,” she sighed.
