Yes, I did find the Set animal intriguing, cute even, but why was it in our basement and why could it apparently crawl under doors? Mum and Kip wanted to keep it without question.

Before I could demand more answers, Pop steered me to the kitchen, eager to teach me Gran’s famous pudding recipe. “Pop,” I sighed as the Set animal reduced our cupboard to atoms, “is this urgent right now?”

But then, in the recipe book, I spotted an illustration of harpies snatching people’s heads off and carrying them to some tropical mountain.
