Observations of a Former Little Mermaid

Humans are very backward, I’ve found.

The men go out while the women guard the home. They hold the mating ceremony before the two actually mate, for reasons I still don't understand. They keep their waste in a little pot that they dump out the window instead of far from the home. Everyone gets fussy when someone doesn’t wear clothes, yet they won’t give their clothing to someone with none, even if they have extra. And though they neither know nor honor the gods, they still believe they have souls.

They make me miss the civilized ways of the sirens.
