Mom didn’t like me hanging around Brayden because he smoked and had a million tattoos, but he was THE freestyle champ at Pallas High, famous for his iconic attitude. I worshiped him.

Anyway, we were freestyling outside the Chamber of Commerce when a big dude stormed out and yelled at us ten minutes straight for being loud. Then he asked in a snarl if he’d ever catch us hoodlums rapping by the Chamber door again.

You’ll never guess what Brayden did then. I was thrilled to witness his signature attitude in action.

With a polite bow, he said, “Nevermore, sir.”

This was originally a school assignment to write a drabble that began with the letter "M," ended with the letter "R," and had a title that began with a "Q." Each student was given different letters chosen randomly.

Interesting exercise! Love the choice of the word Quoth. Quite quirky.
