Gordy

Gordy liked mice. There wasn’t anything unusual about that. That’s because Gordy was an owl, and everyone knows that owls raise mice to compete in Mice Shows. And Gordy’s spectacular mice had won three blue ribbons in the past five years.

Some people looked down on Gordy. They said mean things like “Mice don’t hatch from eggs,” or “It’s not a mouse if it has wings and eats bears,” or “By golly, tell your mouse to put down my wife or I’ll boot your hoot, you hooligan.” But Gordy never let these naysayers stand in the way of his dreams.
