Hatter was an ordinary man. He had a job at the local store and lived near the shore. He liked visiting the orphanage and accompanying the children there. He cherished them all sincerely but there was this one little girl whom he adored the most. Her name was Alice and her name rhymed with chalice, he would say. He gave her presents and told her stories and in return she kept him happy. Hatter was content with the life he had with Alice until he died because of insanity.
And nobody attended his funeral, not even his beloved little Alice.

Too bad about the insanity.

A good story, if a little depressing. Always love fresh takes on Lewis Carroll's work.
