Lolly slipped through the window easily, her small frame barely touching the sides. She landed silently, then bounced up and moved swiftly past the inn towards the woods, stopping briefly to catch a glimpse of the bar through a window.

He was still waiting by the bar, they always did. For how long, she’d never found out. Once they heard Lolly sing, they always waited. She never asked for much, a meal here, a beer there. A warm place to sleep once in a while. Then she vanished into the wind, leaving naught but her name and an empty cup.
