An Unfortunate Awakening

Jolting awake, he rolls over to look at his bedside clock, which looks like a kaleidoscope without his contacts in. With a curtain over the single window in his room, comparable to the hotel curtains that allow you to sleep until noon, he is used to waking up shrouded by darkness. Not knowing the time, but having an unwavering belief that it’s time to get up, he jumps out of bed, grabs his phone, and begins a delirious stumble into the bathroom. Whispering to the only other person awake, he asks, “Hey siri, what time is it?”

“3:30am you idiot”
