Our garden is full of butterflies; it’s lovely! And they seem to be rather comfortable with us around. Our terrace is a sandstone paradise for butterflies, retaining the Sun’s heat... and larger butterflies like nothing better than sunbathing. One such, the Peacock, regularly takes the rays on the sandstone.

A single Peacock butterfly stretched itself today on the terrace. It was beautiful, with four ‘eyes’ on its wings like peacock feathers. But suddenly there were just two eyes as the creature closed its ‘swing-wings’. Its beauty parade was almost over for today.

It was closing it’s eyes.

“Nighty-night!”

Thanks Verity. It’s a very beautiful butterfly, the Peacock.
