I wish you’d never looked my way
I wish you hadn’t gone away
I hoped you knew the love we’d found
I hoped you’d never play around
I wish you’d thought before we wed
I wish you’d not found another’s bed
I hope you know I’m still right here
I hope you’re back within the year
I wish you love, but love for me
I wish you’d make him history
I hope one day that you’ll see sense
I hope you’ll want my love intense
I wish you’ll return, but then until
You come right back, I wish you ill.

Just playing around with concepts following on from Christopher’s ‘have and have had’ format. Neither my best nor based on any personal experience!

I love it! Although now I have Dusty Springfield stuck in my head!

There's a new drabbler called Speculoos Biscuits. I suggested they follow you. They've been posting regularly for a few days now. Might want to check them out.

Thanks Christopher, will do! Speculoos Biscuits as a product sort of rings a bell.🤔

Yes, I like speculoos biscuits... I think the brand over here may be Lotus ‘Biscoff’ caramelised biscuits (cookies in US). They are delicious on their own and with a cup of coffee! 👍

I hope you and me (or is it I?) have encouraged her/him to keep on writing and posting. I suspect s/he will anyway!... but in any case, 🤞.

I hope so too. I wish we could get this place going like it was four or five years ago.

Me too, but I think the CV-19 thing has drained many people’s creative energy. But there seems to be an air of pandemic optimism over here so maybe it’ll rub off. I hope!

On a different subject, have you ever been to a pub in London called Coach & Horses? (That's probably a stupid question, I know!)

Someone posted a picture of the outside of it on Twitter and the first thing I thought of was "I bet Neville's been there!"

Well... there are rather a lot of pubs called the Coach and Horses, a probably quite a lot in London. However, I suspect it might be the Coach and Horses in Greek Street, corner of Romilly Street, which prides itself (which is a separate jokette I will explain later) in being Soho’s Most famous pub. It probably is, as it is famous for being the watering hole of one Jeffrey Bernard, a not very sober journalist and the staff of the outrageously and deeply satirical magazine Private Eye. The pub’s landlord was renowned as London’s rudest landlord. And of course you are correct, I have indeed drank there - my office was very near.

I just looked back at the picture and the sign on the side looks like it says, "Barlow Place W1" if that helps.

I didn't think about it being a franchise business with more than one.

Coach and Horses isn’t a franchise operation, but a very common name for pubs in England - we had lots of coaches and Horses in London in the days of yore. I’ll check out the Barlow Street one. The ‘pride’ jokette was that the owners of the Coach and Horses that I mentioned is Fullers, whose most famous beer brand is London Pride and is very delicious. Not a great rib tickler, but amusing to me!

Romilly Street is famous to me though for a different establishment, Rugantino’s Italian restaurant, only yards away from the Coach and Horses. My workmates and I went there for lunch from time to time. One time the service was appalling and our waiter was quite rude. Accordingly, I removed the automatic service charge. I gave no tip. As we left, and walking down the road, the waiter ran out after us shouting and indicating in vernacular terminology that we should go away and multiply. We laughed like drains and my mates are likely to take the piss out of me still for it. Thanks for the reminder. I might even drabble it.

I’ve found the Barlow Place C&H, although nowadays it’s address is given as Bruton Street (where the Queen was born I believe). It’s very Tudor looking with beams and all that stuff. Amazingly I don’t think I’ve been there. However, we did go very regularly to a nearby pub, The Guinea, in Bruton Place where they serve Young’s delicious Best Bitter and most importantly, the best steak pies ev-er! And the very next time I go to London, in a couple of months, after lockdown of course, I am meeting those same workmates at the Guinea for a pie and a pint. None of us can wait! I will check out that Coach and Horses when I pass by.

Yeah, I noticed that Tudor look myself. I thought it was a cool looking place. Hopefully I'll read that drabble soon you were talking about!
