I’ve flown to wonderful places... sometimes rather scary!
But one trip in the UK scared me the most!
We needed to visit a company in Kent. My colleague cautiously asked “How do you feel about going in a light aircraft?”
‘Say yes, Neville’, I thought.
“Yes!” I replied, absolutely terrified.
Russell owned a two-seater plane and was an experienced flyer. I felt safeish until, leaving London, he let go, forcing me to take over the controls. I was ‘bricking it’ for the next 10 minutes as I flew us over Kent. But telling the tale, I’m still flying high!

What a thing to do to you!

I had to push a dinner trolley before I'd fully got the hang of the things but I suppose that's not quite the same .

It’s probably similar, Jamie, although I guess there was no co-pilot to get you out of the doodoo if you trip up, so maybe it was worse for you! 🤔

I believe when we got back to terra firma I would've had some "words" with that colleague!

(Artistic licence, Christopher, he did ask me if I wanted to take the controls... and of course I sad yes - one must try to say yes... then he took his hands off!
It was nonetheless pretty damn scary. But now I just clock it up as one of my achievements... and brag about it!). Both my sons have parachuted out of aeroplanes, which is much more to brag about!🥴

I've flown a Two seater Cessna twice now. It was the most exciting experience.(under instruction of course ) He didn't tell me when I was flying over my village that I was in complete control. I didn't do the take off or landing but the rest was pretty good.
