They’ve just started coming to the feeders I put out weeks ago. I’d sited lots of feeders crammed with sunflower seeds... not the black ones they have to work on to reach the sunflower hearts, but the hearts themselves. Convenience food for birds.

“Thanks a bunch mate, why couldn’t you have come a couple of weeks ago on RSPB bird count weekend?”
I can’t repeat what he said in reply, but Twitter wouldn’t allow it!
