A silent order. A fly on the wall might find it eerily quiet... might wonder how monks kept their vows of silence... might feel guilty, if such emotions fit in its tiny brain. How deafening its buzzing must sound to silent inmates. But it wouldn’t care because monks would never harm a fly, even noisy ones plaguing the kitchens.
The Abbot decided a switch from meat to a vegan diet of beans might rid them of those noisy flies. It worked, the flies left, but noise remained! Quite symphonic! The answer was blowing in the wind. Quite out of order!

Thanks Verity; it’s years in the ad business that probably accounts for it.

Yeah, years and years of experience. Great that you could reflect your life into many drabbles, they are a real tour!

Thanks very much, Verity. I do actually write fiction too... in fact I am SO behind with my most recent larger work of fiction that Christopher has almost given up on me. I lost my mojo during lockdown, but now I’m almost ready for the final 200 drabbles. Almost....

Dare I doubt your fictional drabbles, you and Christopher are great at this. Your series will always be awaited.
