Feelings of loss

On her ‘days off’, Mrs H has been researching her ancestors. She’s very good at it. She has almost finished all her maternal and paternal lines.

She has discovered weavers, carpenters, policemen, fruit importers, coal dealers, publicans, mill owner, coachmen, joiners, builders, tailors, milliners, butchers, farmers, blacksmiths, merchants, teachers and a wheelwright. All very worthy skilled people. Not once has she found a villain. No thieves, murderers or poor house inmates.

Looking at their wills, she has seen enormous wealth. In modern equivalent terms, millionaires galore!

But what I want to know is, where the hell did it all go?
