Our village High Street was alive! 11.45pm and everyone was waiting for the countdown to a new, hopefully better year. We’d all been tucked away in our bubbles, with our bubbly, but they all burst out. It was all happening at the end of our drive, but everyone kept sensible distances apart.

Glasses were charged on either side of the street ready for the Midnight toast to the New Year, but when the big police patrol vehicle charged up, splitting the two sides of the party, and slowed, we thought we might all be charged. But fortunately it charged off.

    Happy New Year Neville.
I'm afraid I 'chickened out' and charged up to bed to hear Big Ben tell me that 2020 was popped and hope and optimism is the order of 2021.

Happy New Year to you too, Marion. You probably did the right thing; it was extremely cold outside at Midnight! Yes, let’s hope 2021 is an enormous improvement on the last one!
