He was a funny little bloke. He had a gyppy hip which gave him a limp, but as a child prodigy and composer of fabulous tunes, he was a giant.
Carl loved his new wife Caroline and composed a delightful piano piece to prove it. It tells the story in three parts of a man inviting a lady to dance, dancing with her and then returning her to her seat. How delightful, how romantic, but then he was one of the early Romanticists.
So good was it that Berlioz later arranged it for full orchestra. Either way, it’s a delight.
