There they were, loafing about, looking for trouble. The youth of today. Sitting on fences, walls, anywhere they could feel superior to all. But they were not.
Seeing a young female, they each edged along until close to her. Then, strangely, they took a bow. Oddly formal behaviour for these delinquents, but even thugs have rituals. Her flick to the side, gave no doubt that her eager suiters did not suit her. “Flick-off!” she was saying.
So the boys flicked-off, flicking each other as hard as their pigeon wings allowed. These were the only flicks they’d get today!

Nice one. I've become quite taken with hummingbirds of late. I put up a couple of feeders and they've been trying to kill each other to keep it to themselves! I see aerial dogfights out there regularly.

Nice bit of pigeon life Neville. Been watching some pigeons under and in a bridge behind my workplace recently.

Christopher, nature red in tooth and claw, eh? My brother and sister in law have a birdfeeder up and have attracted some woodpeckers. Hope you don't get 'Bombed,.'

Geez. There are more hummingbirds out there now than there were. They're swarming like bees. I think they'll be getting ready to fly to South America soon. They should be good and hydrated because they've been sucking this stuff down like sailors on a 24-hour shore leave!

Thanks Christopher and Jamie. Never yet seen a hummingbird, Christopher; they sound scary.
These pigeons (youths I guess) seem so aggressive to each other - a bit like West Side Story - they seem to whack each other really hard with their wings... it’s a wonder they’re able to fly afterwards. Crazy birds!
