It’s that time again. The time when I realise that we’re running out of marmalade; the Neville’s Seville is in very short supply. But the Seville oranges won’t arrive until January. And only Sevilles will do! I’m in a jam!

It surprises me that the sheer delight that is homemade marmalade is the preserve of the mature. And it certainly does mature too. I’m eating the 2017 vintage right now. It’s all that’s left.

But no worries, as the freezer releases frozen assets to assure a supply of mid-2020 vintage. Breakfast gold waiting to be mined. And it’s mine!

Even though I love lime marmalade I like orange marmalade a lot. That was delicious. Think a marmalade related drabble of yours once had this effect on me before Neville. :-)

Thanks Jamie. I hadn’t realised I’d marmadrabbled before. The new batch is needed urgently now. The great thing is that Seville oranges freeze really well. Why, I left some in a chest freezer, out of reach for fifteen years and they still made cracking marmalade. I don’t understand though why the younger generation aren’t so keen. Maybe their tastes will sophisticate with advancing years.... 🤔
