Chester Zoo is now open again. Mrs H told me she remembers going there when she was very young. She rode an elephant! She remembers that well, although little else from the visit. Standing just 5 foot these days, and considerably shorter back then, it must have been wonderful to tower over everyone on top of a big beast.
My first zoo experience was much later in life, addressing a sales conference for a bunch of drunken dog food salesmen at London Zoo. The animals in the zoo were amazing, but it was my audience who were the real beasts!

I prefer animals to humans any day. And in the wild, animals only kill because they are hungry, not for fun or gain, unlike poachers.!
P.S. Hehehe, ''considerably shorter back them..'' that is so sweet. I really love Mrs H. (I mean,''en tout bien tout honneur,'' :-D ) I understand the lack of height, for an obvious reason lol... Solidarity! -

Thanks Frenchie. I love Mrs H too; she’s the love of my life.... but I think she might be even shorter than 5 foot these days... but out of sensitivity (and fear), I haven’t dare ask her!

Love it. You used to recount some of your days as an ad man, I think you need to do some more of those because I bet you haven't even scratched the surface. After watching Mad Men I became fascinated with the ins and outs of advertising.
