I woke up early this morning; it’s getting lighter earlier. The birds were singing and flitting in and out of the beech hedge. They seemed happy as Larry. They made me happy too.
They don’t know.
Venturing downstairs, I flung open the curtains to reveal the magnificent deep pinky red of the flowering currant and pale yellow clumps galore of fresh-as-a-daisy primroses. I felt daisy-fresh too as I took in the scene.
They don’t know either.
Life it seems goes on, and so must we. So once in a while, maybe I’ll forget that I know.

The sense of the unknown in this works very well. Well done, Neville.

Thanks Drew. Yes we had a great laugh and we all wore silly hats and the little ones had scary masks on too, and one of them wore a giant horse’s head. I told him “nay, you should scare me like that!” I asked for a bit of Janey’s birthday cake, but there was a slim chance of that though, infinitesimally thin! But after my first G&T, I had another and then I was OK.

Agreed. You don’t need a 50:50, ask the audience or phone a friend to get that one right! 😊

Seeing wild creatures appear to enjoy their existence is certainly a tonic. :)
