I leave her sleeping as I quietly head downstairs, where I open the curtains and raise the blind. This is a good time for me. Thinking time, drabble time, ‘my’ time. I like natural light, of which there’s plenty from our large windows.
A time of peace and quiet.
I wake early for maximum enjoyment of ‘my’ time. Then... steps on the stairs... the love of my life appears.
“Why are you in the dark?”
On go the lights as she heads for the radio for unwanted news, simultaneously opening her iPad to watch some noisy Royal video.
The end.

Yep! I certainly don’t want to hear it, neither, it seems, does my wife as she rapidly hits the iPad. She just likes the noise! (Possibly to drown out the sounds of me eating my toast!)

Nice. Although, I'm sure you'd trade "my time" for "our time" any day of the week.

Well yes, you’ve sure got me bang to rights there Christopher!
